Kobakhidze: Georgian government to present 4-year program after winning elections

The government program, which will be presented to the Georgian parliament on February 2, is designed for 10 months, candidate for the post of Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said, Report informs referring to Georgian media.

“The first priority will be to complete large projects that have been started within the existing government program. There are very large projects, the same project of the largest highway, which needs to be completed. Of course, the main emphasis will be on these activities... After that, once we win the parliamentary elections, we will present a new four-year government program,” Kobakhidze noted.

The media note that Kobakhidze was talking about the East-West Highway (European Transit Road E-60). It is the second largest European transit corridor, starting in Brest (France) and ending in Irkeshtam (Kyrgyzstan). On the territory of Georgia, E-60 begins on the border with Azerbaijan and ends on the Black Sea coast near the port of Poti. On the territory of Georgia, the length of the corridor is 392 km. After completing the construction of all sections of the road from the Red Bridge (border with Azerbaijan) to Sarpi (border with Türkiye), it will be possible to drive in 4-4.5 hours instead of 8 hours.
