COVID-19 cases surpass 400 in Kyrgyzstan

Forty-two people, including 16 doctors, have contracted the new type of coronavirus in the Kyrgyz Republic over the past day, Report says, citing the Operations Headquarters of the country.

The number of recorded coronavirus cases in the Central Asian country topped 419, with 79 infected doctors.

Moreover, five people have died from the infection so far.

Notably, the Kyrgyzstan has declared a state of emergency since March 22.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China's Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 1 853 000globally, resulting in more than 423 721 recoveries and over 114 254 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
