Xi Jinping: China to continue to increase co-op with Africa

China will continue to increase cooperation with Africa in various areas, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at a press conference following the 15th BRICS Summit, Report informs referring to TASS.

“In the next phase, China will expand cooperation with African countries to support Africa in expanding its capacity for self-development,” the Chinese leader said.

He noted that the areas of this cooperation relate, in particular, to the provision of satellite imagery data to African countries, interaction on a program to equip customs services with high-tech equipment, as well as the implementation of other initiatives that will allow Africa to achieve sustainable development goals.

“Over the past 10 years, significant development assistance has been provided to Africa, assistance has been made in the construction of more than 6,000 km of railways, more than 6,000 km of roads and over 80 large energy facilities,” he said.
