US intercepts most Iranian ballistic missiles after strikes

The US Armed Forces intercepted most of the ballistic missiles launched by Iran in response to American strikes on Iranian military facilities, a senior US administration official said, according to Fox News.

The official said that no US base in the Middle East had suffered significant damage and that no American service members had been injured. He added that all US personnel were safe.

According to the official, most of the Iranian missiles and drones were launched in the direction of Jordan. Iranian forces had previously claimed attacks on US facilities in Jordan. Jordanian authorities said that 10 of the 13 ballistic missiles that entered the country's airspace had been intercepted.

The US strikes on Iran began on the evening of September 1 and lasted approximately six and a half hours. The attacks were primarily directed at Iranian coastal military facilities in the area of the Strait of Hormuz.
