Syrian navy conducts large-scale operation against boats with illegal migrants

The Syrian Ministry of Defense's Navy conducted a large-scale operation against vessels used for the illegal transport of people, Report informs, citing the Syrian news agency SANA.

"As a result of clashes that lasted several hours, several smugglers were detained, and weapons and equipment found on them were confiscated," the Ministry of Defense said.

The ministry added that the detainees were handed over to the relevant law enforcement agencies for prosecution. The operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Defense to combat smuggling.
