Shmyhal: Agreement on subsoil with US will help Ukraine better protect its skies

Agreement with the US on natural resources will help protect Ukraine now and create a long-term partnership with the world's largest economy, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said, Report informs via RBC-Ukraine.

"For Ukraine, it is important not just to end this war, but to achieve a just peace that will come after it. This means large-scale reconstruction based on the principle of 'better than before'. This means EU membership," he said.

Shmyhal also noted that signing the agreement is the best guarantee of Ukraine's security. After all, it is signed with a country that has a strong economy.

According to him, it is now important to continue legal and diplomatic work and sign technical agreements that will provide specific tools for implementing the partnership with the US.

"But something else is important: this agreement will allow us to better protect the country here and now. Better protect our skies - thanks to American air defense systems. Better protect our land - thanks to modern weapons," said the Prime Minister.

In his opinion, this agreement is a "signal" to Russia that the US remains with Ukraine and "is ready to support us."
