Poland has decided to buy 116 decommissioned Abrams tanks from the United States to replace Russian T-72s delivered to Ukraine.
Report informs, referring to the Polish Radio, that the first deliveries of Abrams should occur early next year. Military equipment will make up for the shortage that arose after transferring T-72 tanks from the reserves to the Ukrainian army. More than 240 modified vehicles were sent as part of the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
Poland earlier expressed readiness to transfer more than two hundred PT-91 Twardy battle tanks to Ukraine. They are a modernized version of the Soviet main tank T-72M1. Kyiv can receive a total of 232 combat vehicles of this model from Warsaw.
