Poland plans to keep its ambassador in Russia, although the Russian government has decided to close the consular agency of Poland in Smolensk, the head of the International Policy Bureau of the Office of the President of the Republic, Marcin Przydacz said, Report informs.
"At this stage, there are no such plans," he said, noting that Poland does not want to withdraw its ambassador from Moscow while ambassadors of other countries are present there.
“So that it doesn’t happen that Poland recalls its diplomats when other countries, for example, Germany or France, keep their ambassadors in Moscow and somewhere there, perhaps, they are trying to implement some kind of dialogue. Either we are all there, as the European Union, or we will depart together in the future," Przydacz said.
At the same time, he said that after Russia’s decided to close the Polish consular agency in Smolensk, Warsaw reserves the right to retaliate.
"The Polish Foreign Ministry made a corresponding statement after the announcement of Russia's decision to close the consular agency. The Polish side reserves the possibility of applying such measures," he said.
