The current policy of the French government towards Muslims is abusive, Muhammad Rabbani, managing director of the British independent human rights organization CAGE, told reporters.
According to Report, Rabbani explained that his non-governmental organization is focusing on documenting and challenging the abuses of government policy which is carried out in the pretext of fighting terrorism.
He said his organization directly faced this fact just two months ago at the OSCE conference, which took place in Poland.
Rabbani noted that upon arrival in Poland, I was stopped by the Polish authorities and was deported from that country.
"When I asked why, the Polish border authorities made it clear that they have an instruction from France that it doesn’t want me to attend the OSCE," he said.
According to Rabbani, it shows that the French government's policies are offensive, but they do not want the world to know about it.
"I consider that initiative taken today to host this conference extremely important and valuable," he noted.
Rabbani said that back in July of this year he was stopped at the French border: "I was kept one night in a detention centre and banned from entering France. The reason is that last year when I was at the OSCE conference in Poland, I made a statement against France. Two weeks after that statement the French government passed an order and it instructed its border authorities to stop me from coming. French authorities are intruding on and trying to stop and obstruct the work of a human rights organization."
