Infamous Bulgarian security expert and politician Alexei Petrov shot dead in Sofia

Former politician and national security expert Alexei Petrov was found shot dead in Sofia's Dragalevtsi district, sources from the Ministry of the Interior told BNR, Report informs.

There was also a woman at the scene who was also shot at. She was taken to hospital in serious condition. According to initial data, the two were shot with a rifle.

Born in 1962, Petrov is a former Beret from the Special Counter-Terrorism Squad. After leaving the berets, he turned to private business.

Petrov was also an adviser to the chairman of the State Agency for National Security in 2008-2009, and for some time he was also a university lecturer at the University for National and World Economy.
