Hamas may release about 50 hostages - holders of dual citizenship - held in the Gaza Strip, according to the New York Times, Report informs referring to TASS.
According to an Israeli military official, relevant agreements may be reached as a result of negotiations between representatives of the US and Qatar. He noted that the release of dual-citizen hostages would not be part of any large-scale deal.
CNN previously reported that the US put pressure on Israel to delay the start of the ground operation in the Gaza Strip and secure the release of the hostages. The Israel Defense Forces has information that Hamas is holding about 222 people hostage.
