France's domestic violence hotline sees record number of complaints in 2024

The domestic violence hotline "3919" in France received more than 100,000 calls in 2024, which was a record figure, Report informs, citing Le Figaro.
"As many as 14% of women who called the "3919" hotline in 2024 reported direct threats of murder," reads the statement.
It was also found that 75% of women who reported domestic violence had children, 98% of them said that their children were subjected to indirect violence, 49% reported direct violence against the child.
According to official data, in 2023, more than 270,000 cases of domestic violence were registered in France, and 96 women became victims of femicide.
