The European Commission (EC) has decided to initiate legal proceedings against a number of its member states on various issues, including Portugal, Poland, Greece, Sweden, Bulgaria, Spain, Ireland and Germany, the EC told Report.

Poland is the most frequently mentioned country on the list. The Commission decided to refer Poland to the Court of Justice of the European Union concerning access to justice in environmental cases. In addition, the EC decided to refer Poland to the Court of Justice of the European Union for not transposing the Drinking Water Directive, with Sweden facing the same accusation.

According to the European Commission, Greece has not adopted an action plan to combat noise, while Bulgaria, Ireland and Portugal are not complying with the requirements of the Terrorist Content Online Regulation.

In addition, Portugal will face the EU Court of Justice for failing to notify measures adopted in the field of excise duty.

The Commission has decided to refer Spain to the Court for not fully transposing the rules on transparent and predictable working conditions into national law, and Germany for incorrect transposition of the EU public procurement Directives.
