China urges EU to uphold free trade rules

China expects the European Union to comply with the rules of free trade and market competition.
Report informs that this was stated by China's Ministry of Commerce.
"China hopes that the European Union will adhere to WTO rules, uphold the principles of free trade and fair competition, and firmly oppose protectionism and unilateral actions," the ministry said.
The ministry also noted that communication channels between China and the EU remain open.
