China's imports of goods, services might reach $17 trillion

The volume of imported goods and services in China might reach $17 trillion in the next five years, Premier of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang said at the opening of the 6th China International Import Exhibition (CIIE) in Shanghai, Report informs via TASS.

"In the next five years, China's total imports of goods and services are expected to reach $17 trillion," Qiang said, pointing out that this will benefit the global market.

“We will continue to promote openness and market opportunities,” Li Qiang stressed, adding that China intends to take concrete actions regarding its role in the recovery and development of the global economy.

Over the past five years, the prime minister noted, China has increased imports of goods by 47% and has also been one of the main driving forces behind the recovery of the global economy. “China is always ready to share the opportunities of its market,” he added.
