US activist: Azerbaijan respects rights of Armenian population living in Karabakh

Azerbaijan is a multi-ethnic country, the human rights and security of Armenians living in Karabakh are respected, said Maryam Danesh, Visiting Scholar from Washington and Lee University, Report informs.

Together with representatives of international NGOs, she signed a protest statement against such actions of Armenia.

Danesh stated that she is concerned about the obstacles created by the Armenian government and they reject the political claims of Armenia.

The activist added that she supports Azerbaijan's efforts towards the reintegration of the Armenian residents of the Karabakh region.

According to Maryam Danesh, the claims of the Armenians, who are trying to speculate and resort to political manipulations regarding the Lachin road used for medical evacuation, are completely groundless.
