The restoration speed of the liberated Azerbaijani territories is impressive, Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafal Poborski told Report.
“Until yesterday, I was not in Aghdam, although I visited other liberated territories of Azerbaijan last year. Therefore, I saw and had an idea about all the destruction in these territories,” the ambassador said.
The first national urban forum taking place these days in Azerbaijan is a very timely initiative, because it makes possible to attract specialists from different countries, the Polish diplomat noted.
“We are very pleased that specialists from Poland are also taking part in this forum,” Poborski added.
The first Azerbaijan National Urban Forum on the “Sustainable Development Goals and the New Urban Agenda as engines of post-conflict reconstruction and rehabilitation” continues its work in Baku. The first day of the event took place in Aghdam.
More than 130 representatives from 44 foreign countries are attending the forum. Over 400 people are taking part in the forum, including officials of local and foreign authorities, representatives of international organizations, experts and scientists.
The forum is organized by the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan, the United Nations Program on Human Settlements (UN-HABITAT) and ADA University.
The main purpose of the event is to share international experience that contributes to sustainable development and urban regeneration, to study the Azerbaijani model of urban regeneration, as well as to establish contacts with specialists and politicians facing similar problems in different parts of the world.
