Int’l travelers enjoy view from Jydyr Duzu (Plain) in Azerbaijan’s Shusha

An international group of travelers from the UK, which includes representatives of 12 countries, after attending the rally of eco-activists on the Khankandi-Lachin road, has headed for Jydyr Duzu (Plain) in Azerbaijan’s Shusha, Report informs.

The group is in the region within a three-day visit to Karabakh and East Zangazur.

The guests were told that once upon a time, riding competitions on the famous Karabakh horses were held on the plain, and national holidays were also celebrated.

The travelers were also told about the unprecedented military operation, when, during the Second Karabakh War, the Azerbaijani servicemen, with light weapons, climbed these dangerous bare rocks, surrounding the plain from three sides, from where the enemy didn’t expect them, and liberated Shusha from occupation.

After the end of the war and the liberation of the Azerbaijani territories, the international music festival Khari Bulbul is held annually on Jydyr Duzu, and other major events are also organized.

The travelers will visit the liberated Azerbaijani territories on February 4–6 along the route Fuzuli-Khojavand-Shusha-Kalbajar-Lachin-Zangilan-Jabrayil-Agdam. This trip once again demonstrates a significant increase in the interest of international travelers in construction and restoration work in the liberated territories of the country, completely destroyed during the almost 30 years of occupation.
