Poland will build a grain port in Gdansk on the Baltic Sea, the country's Agriculture and Development Minister Robert Telus said, Report informs.
“An agricultural company has signed an agreement with the port of Gdansk to build a grain port. We will finally have a grain port,” he said.
Telus emphasized that the interests of Polish farmers are a priority for the country. Due to this, Poland introduced a ban on the import of Ukrainian grain.
Then, Polish-Ukrainian relations deteriorated and Ukraine banned the import of several Polish agricultural products.
The European Commission decided not to extend the ban on the import of four Ukrainian agricultural products to some bordering EU countries, but demanded that Ukraine control exports. In response, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland extended the ban on their own.
Ukraine filed a complaint with the WTO, and three EU countries announced that they would ignore meetings of the coordination platform on Ukrainian grain.
