Aktau increases container transportation through Middle Corridor by 85%

The total volume of cargo transshipment in the first quarter of 2024 through the Aktau seaport amounted to over 1.1 million tons, which is 14% higher than the same period in 2023, Report informs, citing the Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ).
The port provided transshipment of 24,000 tons of grain, more than 920,000 tons of oil and petroleum products.
The seaport handled over 7,400 twenty-foot equivalent containers (TEU), which is 33% more than in the first quarter of last year. Over 6,400 TEUs were handled along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR). This figure increased by 85% compared to last year.
