The London event of the Diamond League athletics meeting was canceled due to the coronavirus, the British Athletics announced on Tuesday.
The Anniversary Games had been due to take place at the London Stadium, which hosted the 2012 Olympics, on July 4-5.
“The decision has been made in light of the ongoing global pandemic,” the British Athletics said on its website, citing the safety of all athletes, coaches, volunteers, spectators, and staff.
UK Athletics CEO Joanna Coates expressed “huge disappointment” over the cancellation of the event.
