Baku. 14 August. REPORT.AZ/ Young girl athletes joined the fight in 44, 51, 59 and 67 kg categories on the third day of the competition at the world wrestling championship in Salvador, Brazil. Report informs, Azerbaijani wrestlers finished the day with 2 gold and 1 bronze medals.
Competing in 44 kg category, Turkan Nasirova defeated her rivals from Turkey, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Japan in a row and became the world champion.
Leyla Gurbanova showed the same results in 51 kg category. She won over the wrestlers from Mexico, Japan, Russia and Ukraine.
In 67 kg category, Elis Manolova reached semifinal with confidence but she defeated by a Japanese athlete. She won the bronze medal by beating the representative of Norway. Within the first two days of competition, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers won 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals and ranked second on the team score.
