Over 63,000 hectares cleared of mines in Azerbaijan From 2021 through 2022, more than 63,000 hectares of land were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan, said Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), Report informs.

Over 63,000 hectares cleared of mines in Azerbaijan

In 2021-2022, more than 63,000 hectares of land were cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan, Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Management Board of the Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), told journalists, Report informs.

According to Vugar Suleymanov, many strategic projects were completed during that period:

“In 2021, the construction work related to the Victory Road and Aghdam-Barda railway line was completed. During the past year, the cleaning of the main line of the Horadiz-Aghband railway project, including the Horadiz-Aghband highway, was completed. Our activity consists of accompanying the projects implemented in the liberated territories. At the end of every year, the tasks to be implemented are approved by the Cabinet of Ministers.”
