Azerbaijan studying South Korea's high-tech park experience

As a continuation of the cooperation with South Korea's Science and Technology Policy Institute (STEPI), the project "Operation program of the High Technology Park in Azerbaijan: application and capacity building" aims to study and apply the Korean experience in the characteristic directions for technology parks - transfer and commercialization of technologies, start-up incubation, Eun Joo Kim, the project leader of the Azerbaijan-Korea Innovation Partnership Program and senior researcher of STEPI, said at the forum held at Azerbaijan Technical University in Baku, Report informs.

Speaking at the forum's opening ceremony, Eun Joo Kim informed the attendees about the opportunities presented by the project, which will cover the years 2022-2024. She pointed out that in addition to STEPI, a delegation consisting of representatives of South Korean universities and state institutions is on a visit to Baku to get acquainted with higher education institutions, science, and innovation centers operating in Azerbaijan.

Addressing the event, Rector of Azerbaijan Technical University, Vilayat Valiyev, said that support will be given to the formation and development of an innovative economic system in Azerbaijan. He noted that the mentioned project is important in terms of strengthening the operational potential and competitiveness of Azerbaijan's High Technology Park through basic training programs, increasing operational experience, and achieving successful results.
