Inadequate use of antibiotics in hospitals has increased in the fight against COVID-19, World Health Organization (WHO) Representative in Azerbaijan, Hande Harmanci, said, speaking at an international conference on "COVID-19: Early and Late Complications" in Baku.

According to her, a study conducted in nine European countries has found out that 79-90% of people intend to use antibiotics to prevent infection when they are not infected.

"15% of cases are bacterial infections, and antibiotics can help them, but still 75% use them," she said.
