Finland confirms first case of monkeypox infection

The first case of monkeypox infection was recorded in Finland, Helsinki University Hospital said in a statement, Report informs, citing foreign media.
“With a high degree of probability, the first case of monkeypox infection has been detected in Finland,” it says. “The final diagnosis will be made to the patient before the end of the week, when genome sequencing from the biological material taken is completed.”
Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported that 131 confirmed cases of human infection with monkeypox and 106 suspected cases of infection in 19 countries have been registered since May 7.
