Azerbaijan confirms 49 new COVID-19 cases

Azerbaijan has reported 49 cases of coronavirus as of April 14, raising the tally to 1,197, the Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers told Report.

A total of 62 people have recovered from the infection and discharged from hospitals.

A patient, born in 1933, who also had diabetes and coronary heart disease, and tested positive for coronavirus died of the infection.

The number of fully recovered patients stands at 351, while the death toll is 13.

The treatment of 833 people (24 are in critical, 28 in moderate, others in stable condition) is underway.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged in late 2019 in China’s Hubei province, and the virus has spread to 210 countries and territories since then.

To date, COVID-19 cases surpassed 1,900,000 globally, resulting in nearly 460,000 recoveries and over 120,000 deaths.

On February 11, the WHO officially named the 2019 novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) as COVID-19, and on March 11, declared it a pandemic.
