Swiss rep: Global South NGO Platform to create foundation for accelerating fight against climate change

The Global South NGO Platform will create a foundation for accelerating the fight against climate change, Alexandre B. Hedjazi, a Swiss representative and Associate Professor at the University of Geneva, stated at the founding conference of the Global South NGO Platform held in Baku, Report informs.

“If we look at the processes that have occurred recently, the importance of acceleration is evident,” he said.

"I think that the Global South NGO Platform will create a foundation for this. It is necessary to unite people with similar thinking around possible targets. Like-minded people from the Global North can also be involved in the processes. It is necessary to provide whatever coordination is possible. We should also unite efforts in the fight against crises. It is necessary to include such topics in the agenda that can be realistically implemented," Hedjazi added.
