On August 11, the Foreign Relations Committee of the Council of States — the upper chamber of the Swiss Parliament — rejected Resolution No. 24 321 titled “Annexation of Nagorno-Karabakh and Release of Political Prisoners in Azerbaijan,” which had been introduced on November 5, 2024, by several pro-Armenian deputies from the Canton of Geneva.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan in Switzerland told Report that thanks to the work carried out by the embassy, a new draft resolution proposed by Committee Vice President Carlo Sommaruga, known for his biased stance toward Azerbaijan, was also removed from the agenda.
