Sultan Ahmad Ali: Azerbaijan plays leading role in Muslim world

Azerbaijan's participation in solving the problems of the Muslim world is very valuable to each of us, Chairman of Pakistan-based Muslim Institute, Sultan Ahmad Ali, told Report.

According to him, Islamophobia is intensifying worldwide, and the international conference held in Baku is an excellent opportunity for representatives of the Muslim world to come together and discuss this critical issue.

He emphasized he had been observing the growing importance of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus region for a long time: "Azerbaijan plays a leading role not only in the Caucasus but also in the Muslim world. Holding a forum on this issue will create more opportunities for each of us."

Commenting on the discrimination against Muslims, the chairman of the Pakistan Muslim Institute also touched on the problems between the North African countries and France: "What happened after North Africa became a French colony? France not only occupied lands that did not belong to it but also destroyed their culture and Muslim identity and killed hundreds of thousands of people."

Sultan Ahmad Ali added that such inhumane acts are one of the saddest moments in European history.
