Rep: UNESCO highly appreciates co-op with Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan participates in many UNESCO projects and contributes to their implementation, Assistant Director-General for Priority Africa and External Relations of UNESCO Firmin Edouard Matoko told the French bureau of Report.

The UNESCO representative highly appreciated Azerbaijan’s cooperation with the organization:

Azerbaijan pays special attention to such issues as the protection of cultural heritage, the culture of peace, multiculturalism, he noted.

He also spoke about the projects implemented by Azerbaijan with member countries. “Azerbaijan, together with UNESCO, continues to strengthen cooperation with member countries. A striking example of this is Azerbaijan’s close cooperation with African countries in the field of a culture of peace,” the representative of the organization said.

Firmin Edouard Matoko also touched upon the successful chairmanship of Azerbaijan in the Non-Aligned Movement and praised the country’s activities in this area.
