Rasim Musabayov: BRICS has no prospects for Azerbaijan

BRICS has no prospects for Azerbaijan, Rasim Musabayov, a deputy of the Milli Majlis, said at the event "Azerbaijan and BRICS: opportunities and prospects", Report informs.

"We divert our opportunities by becoming members of every organization. Leave the Non-Aligned Movement aside and go after BRICS? BRICS has no benefit to Azerbaijan. Russia is one of the founders of this organization. Today, the West imposed extensive sanctions on Russia. How does it benefit from BRICS? It does no good. All of these should be taken into account," the deputy stressed.

Musabayov added that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a more important institution: "It will be more useful to strengthen our place there as an observer than to become a member of BRICS."
