France caused significant financial damage to Guadeloupe, a spokesperson for The National Alliance Guadeloupe, Laurence Maquiaba, said at an international conference titled “Decolonization: Empowerment and Development of Women,” organized by the Baku Initiative Group, Report informs.
According to Maquiaba, the financial condition of Guadeloupeans must be improved: “The social rights of residents must also be ensured. In matters of health, women must have equal rights with men.”
She also stressed the importance of ensuring Guadeloupe's economic development.
“We demand equal pay for women and men. In addition, people need to be protected from possible work-related injuries,” she said.
