“What President Ilham Aliyev said about France's colonial policy is true,” Magalie Tingal, the representative of the Kanak and Socialist National Liberation Front (FLNKS) of New Caledonia to the United Nations, at the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau, Report informs.

“On behalf of the people of New Caledonia, I would like to thank the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev for his speech at the Ministerial Meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement Coordinating Bureau. What he said is absolutely true,” she said.

Magalie Tingal emphasized that France was a very cruel colonialist. According to her, although the local population wanted to postpone the referendum organized in Caledonia in 2021, France insisted on the contrary. As a result, 57% of the population did not participate in this referendum.

She noted that representatives of the National Liberation Front of New Caledonia, who want their voices to be heard, will continue their struggle.
