The prevalence of Islamophobia has escalated to a worldwide scale, as stated by Dodik Ariyanto, the director of the OIC Islamophobia Monitoring Center, Report informs.
He made the remark during the plenary session themed “Calling for Global Dialogue to Promote Tolerance, Peace and Respect for Human Rights and Religious Diversity” as part of the international conference themed “Embracing Diversity: Tackling Islamophobia in 2024” held in Baku.
During his address, Ariyanto emphasized the critical role of global dialogue in combating with Islamophobia. He highlighted the UN General Assembly’s resolution as evidence of the global existence of Islamophobia.
Ariyanto argued that combating Islamophobia requires a comprehensive strategy rather than a singular solution. He advocated for a multi-pronged approach, emphasizing the need for increased actions within the context of intercultural dialogue, including initiatives that promote peace and uphold human rights.
