Azerbaijan has taken a clear position on France’s unconstructive attempts in the South Caucasus, neither it nor any other country will be allowed to interfere in relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, or rather in the process of normalizing these relations. The same position is also regarding the issue of Azerbaijan’s relations with citizens of Armenian nationality living in Karabakh, Fuad Huseynaliyev, director of the Report news agency, said on the air of the “Aktualno Segodnya” (Actual Today) program on the CBC TV channel.
He noted that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is resolute in this issue.
In fact, all these attempts by France are doomed to failure, Azerbaijan won’t allow this, Huseynaliyev added. But as a result, Azerbaijan’s relations with France, which has certain economic interests in the country, are deteriorating, Report’s director noted.
As for France’s attempt to infiltrate Armenia, here it will run into serious opposition from Russia, according to him.
“No third countries will intervene in relations of Azerbaijan and Armenia and the issue of citizens of Armenian nationality living in Azerbaijan. President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev himself and high-ranking officials of the country’s Foreign Ministry have repeatedly stated this. France’s attempts are doomed to failure, Azerbaijan won’t allow this,” added Huseynaliyev.
In his opinion, France is still not ready to apologize for the injustice and tough stance in the years of colonization in relation to the oppressed peoples. As a result, the country is seriously losing its political image in Europe and the world, he added.
