Fuad Huseynaliyev: France imposing anti-Azerbaijani decisions on EU

Many anti-Azerbaijani decisions made by the EU were imposed by France, Director of Report news agency Fuad Huseynaliyev said on CBC TV channel, Report informs.

“It must be taken into account that there are several leading forces in the EU, and France, which is clearly committed to anti-Azerbaijani rhetoric, holds a special place among them,” he said, adding that this has been especially clearly visible in recent years.

According to Huseynaliyev, behind all this stands the desire of France to gain a foothold in the South Caucasus, and specifically in Armenia.

“They [France] are doing everything possible to fully enter Armenia and take root there,” he emphasized.

The director of the Report news agency also noted that for years the Karabakh conflict had remained a means of EU pressure on Azerbaijan: “And now European structures have lost this power. Azerbaijan has restored its sovereignty.”

In turn, Azerbaijani parliament member Novruzali Aslanov emphasized that the European Parliament clearly adheres to the anti-Azerbaijani position.

“There is no person in this process who would say why this is being done. The European Parliament should analyze everything that is happening, but they don’t do this, they simply don’t need it. They are given ready-made narratives, which they subsequently use,” Aslanov added.
