The unsubstantiated statements made by French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Catherine Colonna at a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on April 28 are unacceptable, Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement, according to Report.
"We would like to remind those who make unfounded statements accusing Azerbaijan of invading the territory of Armenia that it was Armenia that has been pursuing a policy of occupation and ethnic cleansing for 30 years. It is sad that France, which positions itself as a party making 'efforts' to resolve the conflict, has not made a single statement in these 30 years and has not condemned Armenia for its occupation policy. We would like to recall that Armenia has not yet fully withdrawn its armed forces from the territory of Azerbaijan, has not liberated eight Azerbaijani villages from occupation and continues military-political provocations," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
