Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan explore co-op on int’l cargo shipment

Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan have discussed cooperation in the field of digital transport and international cargo transportation, Report informs, referring to the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
The discussions were held with the Azerbaijani delegation that paid a working visit to Uzbekistan on July 1-2.
The delegation included representatives of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency, the Azerbaijan International Road Carriers Association (ABADA )Public Union, and transport companies engaged in international cargo transportation.
As part of the visit, Azerbaijani specialists got acquainted with the activities of the Digital Transport Center under the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting with the Uzbek side, experience and knowledge exchange was conducted on reforms in the development of the city's public transport system and applied digital solutions.
The delegation also discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in the field of international road transport, expanding the participation of national carriers, and developing relations between carriers of the two countries.
Within the framework of the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held a meeting with carriers and got acquainted with the modern infrastructure at the Yallama and Dovut ota border crossing points.
The parties also explored possibilities for strengthening the integration of platforms for electronic issuance of permits, digital control of cargo flows, and automation of crossing points.
Participants emphasized the importance of further developing digital transformation in a constant dialogue with business, international partners, and government agencies.
