In 2023, Azerbaijan provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine in the amount of 28 million manats ($16.45 million), including assistance for restoration and reconstruction work, Report informs, citing the Cabinet of Ministers.
The overall amount of assistance provided by Azerbaijan to Ukraine has exceeded 57 million manats ($33.50 million). About half of these aids were implemented in 2023.
In addition, after the devastating earthquake in Türkiye, Azerbaijan sent 940 rescuers, medical personnel, and volunteer teams, as well as more than 5,300 tons of humanitarian cargo, to the region. At the same time, over $45 million was transferred from Azerbaijan to the bank accounts of AFAD and other humanitarian organizations working in the earthquake region.
Also, in December, Azerbaijan allocated $02 million as financial aid to the UNRWA in order to provide assistance to the civilian population in the area in connection with the humanitarian crises that have occurred in the Gaza Strip in recent months.
