Azerbaijan participates in 100th meeting of CIS Economic Council

The First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Yagub Eyyubov, participated in the 100th meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) in Moscow, Report’s Russian bureau said.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the Chairman of the CIS Economic Council, Adylbek Kasymaliev.

Issues of economic cooperation among the CIS countries were discussed at the meeting.

The heads of the delegations first held a meeting in a limited format. Later, there was an expanded meeting. At the meeting, the action plan for the development of international transport corridors passing through the territory of the CIS countries until 2030, the cooperation plan of the member countries in the field of energy, cooperation in the fields of trade and intellectual property, the creation of base organizations for the development of national nuclear infrastructure, and many other issues were reviewed. The parties signed documents on the creation and development of air defense systems in the CIS countries, as well as the budget issues of the CIS.

The chairmanship of the CIS Economic Council for 2024 has passed from Kyrgyzstan to Russia.
