Azerbaijan, IOM mull preparations for ministerial conference in Baku

The head of the State Migration Service (SMS) Vusal Huseynov met with the head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) representation in Azerbaijan, Troy Dooley, to discuss preparations for the Ministerial Conference to be held in Baku in 2025.

According to Report, which cites the service, Vusal Huseynov noted IOM's significant contribution to the implementation of migration projects, as well as successful cooperation, including the activities of the Regional Training Center on Migration.

In turn, Troy Dooley emphasized the importance of joint projects in the migration sphere for strengthening cooperation.

The meeting focused on issues related to Azerbaijan's chairmanship in the Almaty Process [Regional Consultative Platform on Refugee Protection and International Migration], implementation of the "Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration," holding the Ministerial Conference in Baku, as well as the second phase of the Regional Training Center on Migration project.
