Azerbaijan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs has expressed its deep condolences in connection with the loss of life and injuries resulting from an armed attack in Cetinje, Montenegro.
According to Report, in a statement posted on the Ministry's social media account, the ministry said: "We are deeply saddened by the deadly attack in the town of Cetinje, Montenegro, that resulted in dozen people killed and injured. We express heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wish the soonest recovery of injured."
The mass shooting occurred on the evening of January 1, stemming from a dispute at a local bar. The gunman, identified as 45-year-old Aco Martinovic, had a history of illegal weapons possession. When police arrived to apprehend the suspect, he attempted suicide and died en route to the hospital.
Montenegro has declared a three-day period of mourning in response to the deadliest shooting in its history.
