Ambassador: Azerbaijan stands in solidarity with Pakistan

Azerbaijan, demonstrating a wise and far-sighted policy, stands in solidarity with Pakistan and supports Pakistan, Pakistani Ambassador to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee told a briefing, according to Report.

The ambassador noted that the agenda of Jammu and Kashmir is the longest in the UN.

The unilateral repeal of Article 370 and Article 35A of the Indian Constitution, which granted the region special rights and privileges, had negative consequences for the region, he said.

On August 5, 2019, the Government of India announced the repeal of Article 370 of the constitution, which gave the state of Jammu and Kashmir a special status. After the decision was made to change the constitutional status of the state in order to prevent tension in Kashmir, the New Delhi authorities deployed tens of thousands of troops to the north. A curfew was introduced in the region, traffic was limited, mobile communications and the Internet were turned off.
