Rival of Azerbaijan in first home match this year named

Baku. 8 February. REPORT.AZ/ The national football team of Azerbaijan will hold a friendly match on March 23 in Baku.

Report informs referring to the AFFA official website, the rival will be the Belarusian team.

The match will start at 20:00 at the Baku Olympic Stadium. This will be the first match of the Azerbaijan national team in Baku this year.

Notably, Azerbaijan national team will face Belarus for the third time in friendly match. The first meeting was held on May 27, 1996 in Molodechno, Belarus. Ruslan Idigov and Gurban Gurbanov (head coach of the national team), scored both goals in the match that ended in 2:2 draw.

On February 26, 2001, Belarus won the match in Albena, Bulgaria 1:0.

Notably, Belarusian team led by Igor Kriushenko will visit Ljubljana after Baku and play a friendly match with Slovenia on March 27.
