Teams from the lower age groups of Azerbaijan’s Qarabag Football Club are set to participate in major international tournaments, Aftandil Hajiyev, the club’s academy coordinator, told Report.
Hajiyev revealed that the U-15 team, coached by Rauf Aliyev, will travel to Antalya for an international tournament from April 16 to 20.
“The competition will feature strong teams, including the Kuwait national team, Fulham (England), Lex (Czech Republic), Levante (Spain), Stuttgart (Germany), Partizan (Serbia), Gent (Belgium), and Antalyaspor (Türkiye). Both national teams and clubs will take part,” he stated.
Hajiyev also confirmed that the U-17 team will compete in the Gothia Cup, regarded as one of the world’s top youth tournaments.
“This prestigious event will be held in Gothenburg, Sweden, from July 13 to 19, and our U-17 team has secured its place. The competition is incredibly challenging to enter, with teams from nearly every country participating. From what I know, over 1,800 teams will take part,” he noted.
Additionally, Qarabag’s U-11 team will head to Poland for another international tournament, scheduled from May 22 to 26.
“While the regulations haven’t been sent yet, it is shaping up to be a great tournament,” Hajiyev remarked.
Earlier, it was confirmed that Qarabag’s U-14 team would participate in the SV EPE U-14 Youth Easter Cup in the Netherlands.
