Neftchi win 1,000th Azerbaijani league game

Neftchi defeated Gabala away from home in the sixth round of the Misli Premier League.
According to Report, the Black and Whites secured a 3-0 victory at Gabala City Stadium.
Breno Almeida opened the scoring in the 25th minute, while Adeleke Akinyemi doubled the lead in the 86th minute. Lyubomir Tupta completed the scoring in the second minute of stoppage time.
The match also marked Neftchi's 1,000th game in the top flight in the history of Azerbaijani football. The Baku club thus became the first Azerbaijani team to reach the milestone in the national championship.
The team coached by Yuriy Vernydub moved to the top of the standings with 15 points. Gabala are eighth with four points.
The round will conclude on September 20.
