The discussion about the transition of Sweden to a single European currency arose in the country against the backdrop of the weakening of the Swedish krona, Report informs referring to local radio station Radio Sweden.
The business community mainly supports the introduction of the euro.
“A weak Swedish krona is resurrecting a debate in Sweden about whether the country should join the single European currency, the euro,” the radio station said.
A recent poll by the Swedish business newspaper Dagens Industri showed that “6 out of 10 CEOs of the largest Swedish companies said they would like Sweden to adopt the euro.”
One of the main reasons is that the Swedish Central Bank is not able to raise the value of the krona.
