Net foreign assets of Azerbaijan’s banks rise by nearly 16%

As of March 1, 2025, Azerbaijani banks held net foreign assets totaling over 28.543 billion manats (just over $16.79 billion), Report informs, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
This represents a 0.8% increase from the previous month, a 7.3% rise since the beginning of the year, and a 15.6% growth compared to March 1, 2024.
Additionally, as of the same date, the net internal assets of Azerbaijan’s banks stood at just over 18.131 billion manats (over $10.665 billion), reflecting a 5.1% increase from the previous month, an 8.8% decrease since the beginning of the year, and a 9.7% decline compared to the same period last year.
Overall, Azerbaijan is home to 22 operating banks.
