Net foreign assets of Azerbaijan’s banks dropped by 1% in March

As of April 1, 2025, Azerbaijani banks held net foreign assets totaling just over 28.25 billion manats (just over $16.6 billion), Report informs, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).
This represents a 1% decrease compared to the previous month, a 6.2% rise compared to the beginning of the year, and a 10.6% growth compared to April 1, 2024.
Additionally, as of the same date, the net internal assets of Azerbaijan’s banks stood at just over 18.48 billion manats ($10.87 billion), reflecting a 1.9% increase compared to the previous month, a 7.1% decrease compared to the beginning of the year, and a 4.2% decline year-on-year.
Overall, 22 banks operate in Azerbaijan.
